FINDING A FRIENDLY LAWYER
      This is not a technical matter but sometimes in dealing with contractors or suppliers you end up on the short end of the stick and need some legal help. Been there, done that! I offer this solution. Realize that I will profit to a minor degree if you use this service; it is up to you if you wish to pursue this.
      I hate lawyers, but when you need one, what can you do? In this lawsuit-happy day-and-age, you may need some legal protection or just advice at the least expected time. I have found a way to make a lawyer your friend. The plan is Pre-Paid Legal Services, and it is essentially that. You make regular monthly payments, and if you need a lawyer, there is one readily available, even after hours in emergency. You can get legal advice, have them write letters, prepare a simple will, stand up for you in court or at the Department of Motor Vehicles or the IRS, etc. All of that is included at no additional charge. They will also do other work for you at a reduced rate.
      Don't wait until you need a lawyer; that is too late to get the best rate. I have been in this plan for a while and I have used them several times to handle account disputes. The company has been around for a long time and is reliable. The legal service is provided by a contracted legal firm in your state, and their performance is audited.
